Stolen horse sculpture found during drugs raid

A stolen horse sculpture has been recovered by police, along with £10,000 worth of cocaine.

The 6ft blue and white equine called Angus Chan disappeared from the Ready Steady Gallop charity art trail in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire on 24 July.

A social media campaign was kicked off to help track down the sculpture, using using the hashtag #FindAngus.

The sculpture had been missing for a week when local police tracked it down, after raiding a house in Wishaw.

According to the Scottish Daily Record, a police spokesman said officers also discovered £10,000 worth of cocaine at the property.A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with both crimes.

Lost and ear

Angus Chan lost an ear during the ordeal but is now fully recovered and back on the art trail, with his herd of Clydesdale statues.

The trail ends on the 6September, when thesculptureswill be auctioned for local charity the Kilbryde Hospice.
