Ride around Burghley and raise money

The SEIB Burghley Sponsored Ride is back again this year, offering riders a chance to hack around the world famous course.

Wonderful opportunity

The 12km ride in Burghley Park allows participants to get up close to the cross-country fences, from the back of their own horse.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for riders of all levels to ride round Burghley and raise money for charity at the same time,” said SEIB marketing manager, Nicolina Mackenzie.

The sponsored ride is open to anyone aged five years and upwards. The minimum donation is £30 per rider and 100% of the money raised will go to equestrian and local charities.

Since the ride started in 2001 more than £160,000 has been raised, for charities including World Horse Welfare, Cancer Research and Thorpe Hall Hospice.

Rosettes and prizes

Everyone completing the course will receive a SEIB rosette and goody bag, and there will be prizes for the most money raised. The ride takes place on Sunday 7 September 2014, which is the final day of the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials.
