Gallery: Equine stars touch down in Hong Kong

Some of the world’s top showjumping horses have touched down in China for the Longines Hong Kong Masters (19-21 February).

A total of 64 horses boarded a flight in Liège on Sunday, landing in China the following day. They now have a few days to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings before the competition begins.

Britain’s John Whitaker returns to Hong Kong as the reigning winner of the Longines Grand Prix. He’ll face a challenge from many other top riders, including Ludger Beerbaum, Marco Kutscher, Pius Schwizer, Ireland’s Bertram Allen, Daniel Deusser, Maikel van der Vleuten, Gerco Schröder, Simon Delestre, Patrice Delaveau, Kevin Staut and Roger-Yves Bost

Other Brits taking part include lady riders Laura Renwick and Jessica Mendoza, whose horse Spirit T you can see in many of the below images.
