Award-winning Country Ways series makes comeback on H&C

If you’re struggling with the cold weather, our charming new show Country Ways offers the perfect escape from the British winter.

Quintessential Britain

Country Ways was an award-winning series, broadcast on ITV for over 25 years, which looked at the countryside through the eyes of the people that live and work there.

It sadly came to an end in 2008 when regional programming was dropped by the channel. Ten years later it has been resurrected by creator Andrew Holden’s daughter, and Country Ways 2018 is making its premiere on H&C, offering a slice of quintessential Britain.

Updated formula

Andew produced and directed the original programme for over twenty years. When he retired, his daughter Katie Macey took over his company and she decided to get Country Ways back on our screens.

“I thought it would be an interesting project to revisit the idea, with an updated formula,” explains Katie. “With the help and encouragement of my good friend, Philip Ghazala – who is a presenter, equestrian commentator and a lover of the countryside – we have produced a new episode.”

Stunning New Forest

The programme visits the New Forest in Hampshire, where presenter Philip meets reining bronze medalist Tammy Greaves and her stunning palomino stallion, equestrian artist Debbie Harris and a female farmer, who has rights to graze her animals on the forest.

“We are currently planning a new series, searching for delightful nooks and crannies across Britain,” says Katie.
