The British team for the next leg of the Eventing Nations Cup in Ballindenisk, Ireland this weekend has been announced.

Team players

As always, team manager Philip Surl has picked riders with a range of experience. The team comprises: Louise Harwood and Whitson, Nicky Roncoroni and Stonedge, Georgie Strang and Cooley Business Time, and Izzy Taylor riding KBIS Starchaser.

“Izzy brings with her a wealth of Nations Cup team experience having recently paired KBIS Briarlands Matilda to sixth place and team bronze at the Fontainebleau leg of the series,” said Philip.

“It will be great to have Nicky and Stonedge back on the squad again this weekend; they were a strong combination at Ballindenisk this time last year and are fantastic team players.

Promising ride

In contrast with the experience of Izzy and Nicky, it will be Louise and Georgie’s first time on aNations Cupteam.

“I am really looking forward to seeing how Louise and Whitson get on as they have extremely consistent form at three star level,” added Philip.

“Georgie and her promising young ride also join us as newcomers to the team with some fantastic recent three star form under their belts, including third place at Boekelo last autumn.”

The next leg in the series is on British turf at Houghton Hall, in Norfolk (28-31 May).
