Art exhibition captures equine ‘elegance’

A new exhibition said to capture the “beauty and elegance” of the horse is taking place this summer.

Specialist knowledge

Horse will feature a selection of artwork, sculpture and ceramics from national and internationally renowned artist – all of which have a deep appreciation and specialist knowledge of horses.

Many of the artists are horse owners themselves, and some are professional riders. Julie Chapman competed in dressage and three-day eventing, while Stephanie Revennuagh used to showjump in South America and managed a dressage yard in Colorado.

The exhibition is curated by one of the UK’s leading sculptors,Simon Gudgeon whose work will also be on display.

Artist of the Year

Another highlight of the exhibition are equine portraits by Christian Hook, who won the Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year award in 2014. In the same year he had an exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery.
