Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Bordeaux & the CAIW FEI Driving World Cup Final

Bordeaux, France – Feb. 14, 2020 – You may need to clear your Valentine Day’s schedule this afternoon as the thrilling CAIW FEI Driving World Cup Final highlight show will be broadcasted Friday, Feb. 14, at 3:00 p.m. EST, before the penultimate Longines FEI World Cup™ Finals’ qualifier for the Western European League will be as-live broadcasted directly following at 3:30 p.m. EST, only on Horse & Country!

Before the jumpers take centerstage, the broadcast will kickstart at 3:00 p.m. EST this afternoon with the highlight show of the CAIW FEI Driving World Cup Final in Bordeaux, France. History was made when Australian Boyd Exell raced to the win to be crowned the FEI Driving World Cup Final Champion for an impressive ninth time! Catch all the excitement from Bordeaux by subscribing to Horse & Country today.
Following the driving competition, thirty-eight of the top European riders also gathered in Bordeaux to tackle Jean-Francois Morand’s technical 14-jump track for a chance to earn qualifying points for the prestigious finals, which are taking place in Las Vegas this April. Nine horse-and-athlete combinations battled it out in the jump-off, but it was ultimately Swiss rider and current world number one, Steve Guerdat, and his 11-year-old gelding, Victorio Des Frotards (Barbarian x Prince Ig’Or), who bested the pack and nabbed yet another World Cup victory together. Do not miss the opportunity to watch Horse & Country’s as-live broadcast of the class to see how the Swiss duo defeated the best of the best in Bordeaux.
Owned by Guerdat, Arctic Partners and Jumper Horses AG, the ardent, Victorio, is one of the Swiss rider’s top horses. The strong-willed Selle Français is known for his ability to swallow up the track with his ground covering stride, and he was also Guerdat’s mount in Basel, Switzerland, where the pair won a World Cup qualifier on home soil.

Friday’s broadcast covers one of two qualifiers left for the indoor season highlighting the rivalry between two Olympians, Guerdat and Daniel Deusser. Last year’s winner at Bordeaux, Deusser, currently sits third in the world rankings. Guerdat muscled his way back to the number one slot, which he held onto throughout 2019 and only recently lost for a few weeks to his fellow Swiss countryman, Martin Fuchs, in January.

The final leg of the Western European League qualifiers in mid-February at Göteborg, Sweden is quickly approaching as riders will compete in a last attempt to grasp onto one of eighteen tickets to Vegas. The highly anticipated Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada this spring will see Guerdat go for a record fourth World Cup title. Having won three titles already, Guerdat has been catapulted into an elite league of historic riders.
