Kitty King and Boyd Martin in joint first place after day one at Luhmühlen

Day one at Luhmühlen Horse Trials came to an unusual close, with Kitty King (Ceylor LAN) and USA’s Boyd Martin (Shamwari 4) sharing first place on a score of 27.4pen.

Ones to watch

Italy’s Vittoria Panizzon is third with Checkers Play the Game on 28.1pen. However, this could all change today as there are some big names still to compete in the first phase.

Brits to look out for include Pippa Funnell, Laura Collett and European team gold medalists, Nicola Wilson, Ros Canter and Kristina Cook.

Nicola and Bulana missed out on winning at Luhmühlen last year by just 0.6pen – so they are definitely ones to watch – while Ros Canter recently came third at Badminton.

Badminton 2018 winner Jonelle Price is also competing, this time with Faerie Dianimo who came second in the CIC*** at Tattersalls last month.
